Welcome to the Metro Area Box Lacrosse League

Welcome to the Metro Area Box Lacrosse League. The MABLL has existed in the Baltimore/DC/Metro Area since 1975 in various venues and has had thousands of players come through its doors.  What started as a follow-up league to the original NLL in the 70's has evolved over the last 45 years with ups, downs but always keeping the game alive.

As we begin a new era with a new logo, we will always do our best to protect the integrity of the game and provide playing opportunities for all players at all levels.  This league has never been about profits but has been about building a quality infrastructure of competitiveness and fun for those in the "boxla" world.

Those of you who have know us since we started playing in the 80's at Sports Network in Manassas, Virginia, know that we have always had a passion for box lacrosse and we hope to pass that along to a new group of players while providing playing and growth opportunities for all of us.

We look forward to seeing you all an please reach out with any questions, criticisms or suggestions.

The Metro Area Box Lacrosse League is BACK for Summer 2021.

Beginning in June, we will host Open Leagues in BOTH Baltimore (North) and Northern Virginia (South). In July, we will launch our Collegiate Summer League (22U) and at a SURPRISE location as soon as details are finalized.

The MABLL will expand with East and West Divisions in 2022 and a longer Collegiate Summer League in 2022 that will be a part of the National Collegiate Box Series.

The North Divisions will play at Coppermine DuBurns Arena in the downtown Baltimore Canton area.  The South Divisions will play at Dulles Sportsplex in Ashburn, Virginia.

Open Leagues - The Open Division is designed for all players that are no longer in college and are local year-round.  The league will begin with its Summer Season (June-July) as well as Fall (September-November) and Winter (December-February) Seasons.  A, B & Masters Divisions will be developed based on interest and could include matchups between North and South teams.

Collegiate Summer League - The Collegiate Division is designed for recently graduated high school seniors and currently enrolled college students.  The goal of this division is to teach and play the box game at a high level and help player improve their overall lacrosse skillset.

The North and South will have championships and the top 2 teams from each division will advance to the MABLL Championship in Baltimore at the end of July.

In the summer of 2022, the Collegiate Division will become a part of a National Series and will compete for a National Championship.
